Famed composer Edward Artemiev dazzles with this aural delight that paints the sonic landscape with a varying assortment of strokes. There's orchestral work, choirs, individual vocals and fabulous artwork (as we have become accustomed to seeing from Electroshock). "Three Odes" is a special collection of pieces by Edward. "Ode#1" was composed for the 1980 Russian Olympics, "Ode #2" was for a film by Nikita Mikhalkov in 1990, and "Ode #3" was performed for the opening ceremony of the "Teffi Awards" for best productions in TV in 1997. All three are richly melodic, filled with strong rhythmic layers of sound, and have a distinct edge to them so as not to be mere synthetic muzak.
