CD Information

Kelli Grant is an exceptional entertainer, Grammy member, award-winning BMI writer, international recording artist, and The Queen of Swing. Award winning engineer Mickey Moody, formerly of ABC-Dot Records engineers a magnificent album of swing and standards that Kelli's low, sultry voice can literally wrap around each and every note. Some of these selections were first released in Europe on an affiliate of the Warner Brothers label, and reached as high as number 4 on some charts. Now, these remastered gems are in consideration for a Grammy. Nothing new to Kelli. This is a home-made CD in sleeve packaging.

Artist Video

Swing a Billy by Kelli Grant, the Queen of Swing (03:24)
The song is an autobiography that gives credit to my Mom for teaching me to play a Swing bass line in my left hand. Coupled with the gyrating piano poundin' leads in my right, I put the 2 styles together and call my musical piano style, "Swing-a-Billy". My first CD, released on Eagle Records in Germany with label mates including; ZZTop, Fats Domino & Mr. Action Roy Moss I did not play on it. I was just a Singer. The self-titled CD went to #4 in Belgium & #7 in Holland. However, that is the only CD I have not played piano & bass which has become my signature style. I was tagged the Queen of Swing by Mr. Action Roy Moss & Carl Perkins for the way I play. As seen in the video I headlined with both of these 2 legendary artist. But after winning an Honorable Mention from Billboard for my R&B original, "the Way Love Use to Be" from the CD, "Honky Tonk Swing", I began headlining at casinos across the country on my own name. Once I had gotten my foot in the door there, I was one of only 209 artist selected to be on the Texas Touring Roster. The Texas Commission on the Arts then Nominated & Sponsored me for inclusion for the Mid-America Arts Alliance Touring Roster with the National Endowment for the Arts subsidizing my performance fees. I have received a personal endorsement from Jean Bennett, the original management of The Platters. Along with her partner the genius songwriter, Buck Ram who penned such wonderful hits as: Only You, The Great Pretender, I'll Be Home for Christmas and many more carried the group to 16 Gold Records. I feel so very fortunate to call her my friend and to have done so many things in my career. I look forward to the next page of my career with the release of my new CD & song, "Swing-a-Billy".
