Milwaukee Slim (Angelo Chambers: 1924 - 1993) worked for a while as a waiter at a blues club where he also acted as emcee and developed an engaging stage presence. In St. Paul, Minnesota, he led his own band, the Blue Birds, and also worked with a band led by Harmonica ace Tom Schafer. "Lemmon Avenue" does a good job of capturing Slim in top form along with many of the Twin-Cities' favorite blues sons. Great Chicago stuff featuring Milwaukee Slim's absolutely authentic vocals.
