Mr. Rick & The Biscuits engage in a variety of playing styles from traditional to straight-ahead blues, gleaned from an era when country blues were moving to the city. The songs included here were originally penned by the likes of Washboard Sam, James Cotton, Big Bill Broonzy and Jellyroll Morton. The sound is an original electric/acoustic hybrid that not many play, or play this well. Harp, guitar, bass and drums back Mr. Rick's vocal skills, and together they serve some fine jazz, blues, gospel, rock & roll and country swing flavors. Whether they add a finger-picking guitar, change a groove, or put a western swing tempo over some Chicago blues, they create their own sound.
