Slowburn - Bring It On

Scandinavia has long been a home to rebirthing American roots music and Sweden is no exception. “Bring It On” by Slowburn carries a clear country vibe that works its way into the obscure genre of alt-country-rock. Joakim Ramstedt (singer, guitar player, and songwriter) heads up this outfit with a lazy and lonely vocal approach, while handling the lead guitar chores. There’s also some fine dobro and banjo that add subtle touches of interest. The tales Slowburn tells are of yearning and real life problems – Joakim emotes and growls them with a convincing way of telling his stories. Even his cover tunes take on a new life under the Slowburn umbrella. Though there is a variety of tempos here, alt evenness provides the glue.
