The Stingers - Third Gear

The history of this band goes back to the year 1987, but the name The Stingers emerged circa 1991. Amazingly, the band's lineup has remained intact for a long time. From Scandinavia, The Stingers blow things out with their second release! This group stands for fast rock & roll with a slapping bass and is psychobilly-minded, but you can say it’s more melodic than old school psychobilly. The opening number roars out of the rockabilly garage with a revving engine and merges into a staccato rave. Ismo Joonala's vocals are easy on the ears, yet the band never lets the listener get too comfortable. The instrumentation (though tight) preserves a sexy, haunting, rough edge.
